Allister Coetzee appointed as the new Springbok head coach – Is this the best for SA Rugby?

Allister Coetzee was appointed today as the new springbok head coach .

Allister Coetzee now 52 was announced head coach of the Springboks by Mr Oregan Hoskins, president of SA Rugby. He will be the head coach for the next four years. Allister said his extremely honoured. Born on the 23rd of May 1963 in Grahamstown, South Africa.

In 1996 to 1997 he was the assistant coach for Eastern Province. From 98 – 99 he was the team manager for the Sharks. In 2000 he was the assistant coach for the sharks. Also in 2000 he was the assistant coach for South Africa. From 2004 – 2007 he was the assistant coach for South Africa. In 2006 he was the backline coach for the Cats. From 2008 – 2009 he was the backline coach for the stormers. From 2010 to 2015 he was the Stormers headcoach. Allister Coetzee has a remarkable coaching record :

Coetzee was a Rugby player for 22 years. He was also a junior springbok player in 1992. He played scrumhalf.

Allister was the most best candidate based on his track record as a coach. “With his provincial and Vodacom Super Rugby history he makes his appointment a great one for SA Rugby,” said Roux.

Coetzee was the coach at a Japanese club Kobe Steel Kobelco Steelers before excepting the Job as Head Coach of the Spingboks.

South Africa will stand behind Allistar Coetzee and the big task that lies ahead.
